His time over the 1.5 course was 9:54, putting him 20 seconds behind a boy who is supposed to be the best in the State.

It was a hard fought victory, full of fouls and frustration. It's a shame someone has to lose.

Molly triumphs at high school equestrian show

Molly helped carry the Olivet team in its first high school meet in Mason, MI today. She took first place for jumping (equitation over fences), first for saddle-seat bareback, second in hunt-seat bareback, and fifth in hunt seat equitation. Her horses, Stetson and Chaz, behaved well for the most part.

We spent the holiday at a little cottage on the narrow peninsula between Portage Lake and Lake Michigan, part of the Portage Point Inn. The old inn has lots of character and lots of toys - beaches, tennis, shuffleboard, hot tub, etc.
