Star Wars Film Fest

A'lana came over. We set out to watch all six movies but ended up skipping one of them. Still, the festival went from 12:30 to 11:30! Along the way we had Trash Compactor Stew, Miticlorian Martinis, Jedi Temples, Bantha Bolognese, and cake that started out as a Death Star cake but became a droid cake due to flatness. Princess Leia hairdos were another source of entertainment.

Our blustery day

Woke up this morning to find that the wind had done some odd things such as lifting the trampoline and hurling it over the fence and into a grove of maples. We're not sure if the bends can be fixed...

His time over the 1.5 course was 9:54, putting him 20 seconds behind a boy who is supposed to be the best in the State.

Joe's first soccer game of the season

It was a hard fought victory, full of fouls and frustration. It's a shame someone has to lose.

Molly triumphs at high school equestrian show

Molly helped carry the Olivet team in its first high school meet in Mason, MI today. She took first place for jumping (equitation over fences), first for saddle-seat bareback, second in hunt-seat bareback, and fifth in hunt seat equitation. Her horses, Stetson and Chaz, behaved well for the most part.

We spent the holiday at a little cottage on the narrow peninsula between Portage Lake and Lake Michigan, part of the Portage Point Inn. The old inn has lots of character and lots of toys - beaches, tennis, shuffleboard, hot tub, etc.
